U2719DX, dual, audio from both?

Hi!

I am running dual 27" new Dell monitors on my Latitude 5300 2-1 and I get sound on only one monitor.  Is there a way to have sound come out of both monitors?  Maybe use the Audio Line-Out port from monitor #1 to monitor #2 (DP(IN) or HDMI)?  Thanks!!

Get audio on dual U2719DX monitors?

@dallascat  Aha! Happy to help. If you want to duplicate audio though, you’ll want to connect a 3.5 mm splitter to the audio output jack of one display and then run a separate 3.5 mm cable to line-in/AUX jacks of your soundbars. If you get soundbars that only allow audio through USB, that won’t work, because Windows will see those as two separate audio output devices and you can only choose one as the default, and you can’t mirror in Windows. Good luck!

@dallascat  That actually might cause some strange stereo imaging effects, but if you really want to try it, can you clarify the actual speakers you’re using? The U2719 doesn’t have built-in speakers, so options here will depend on what you’re using. If it’s a Dell soundbar, which one?

Thanks!  So the sound I was hearing was from my laptop behind my first monitor (lol!).  So yes, I need to look at external speakers or a soundbar, I'll browse the section.
