U2723QE, intermittently turns off
Model name DELL U2723QE
Both the laptop and desktop are connected and I switch between them using a hotkey.
And I connected another monitor to it by using DP output. However, with this setup, the Dell monitor intermittently turns off (the power LED also goes off).
The 2nd monitor remains on and the computer functions normally. It still recognizes it as a dual monitor setup. When I press the power button on the Dell monitor, the screen comes back.
Could it be that the monitor shuts down on its own due to excessive power consumption from its perspective? The issue disappears when I disconnect the cable from the laptop side.

@DELL-Chris M Now I got what's going on. As my laptop is Dell precision, when it goes to sleep state, monitor turns off as well because of DPBS feature. I searched how to turn off DPBS but I found that there was no way for doing that. DPBS was already notorious among other Dell users which makes no sense with KVM setup. Thanks for your reply :)

To receive assistance from Dell support agents they need to first verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private U2723QE Service Tag and 20 digit serial number with them.
WIth both laptop and desktop connected to the U2723QE, but the second monitor is NOT connected to the U2723QE, does the U2723QE have that same issue?
What is the daisy chained second monitor model, resolution?
