wide screen DVD viewing

I have the 24" Wide Screen and was wondering how I can view my widescreen DVD's to fill the screen vs the black lines on top and bottom.  The videos that came pre loaded with XP Media Center give you that view, just don't know how to set it for my own DVD's.

Thanks,

Riko

Two links that you might want to look at.  You can stretch the movie, but it won't look that good.

Check the aspect ratio on those DVDs. If it's 2.35:1 or similar then even on a widescreen monitor/TV that will have black bars at the top and bottom (letter-boxing). If it's 1.78:1 or similar then they should play without the letter-boxing. You can also go to Menu/Image Settings/Scaling and adjust the scaling there - use Fill or Aspect setting to taste.

Thanks Steve, if you're taking about the adjustment at my monitor I can't find scaling as an option.  When I go to Image settings, it takes me into the PIP/PBP Settings menu.

    Thanks

Hmmm, for the 2405FPW, when you press the Menu button on the monitor you should see the Main Menu with options for Positioning/Image Settings/Color Settings/OSD settings/Language/PIP-PBP/Audio/Factory Reset. Are they what you see? Are you sure you're pressing the Menu button on the Monitor (3rd from the left) and not the PIP/PBP button (2nd from the left)?
