Failed Save

Does anyone know how to resolve this failed save?  Saves had been running fine for years, but recently stopped with the error below.  No known changes except the main POC/Administrator left.  Can his username be embedded somewhere in the backup process and preventing this save from occurring or is there another known issue? DataMover /SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 failed:full:save:nsrndmp_save -T dump -F ":SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP2" * DataMover:/SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 1 retry attempted * DataMover:/SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 NDMP Service Debug: The process id for NDMP service is 0x73049f8 * DataMover:/SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 42785:nsrndmp_save: Performing backup to NDMP type of device * DataMover:/SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 39077:nsrndmp_save: error, no matching devices for save of client `DataMover'; check storage nodes, devices or pools * DataMover:/SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1   DataMover: /SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 level=full, 0 KB 00:00:00      0 file * DataMover:/SERVERTOBEBACKEDUP1 backup failed.     * :  Failed with error(s)

    Hi Doin,

The failure is complaining of device not being available. Check the pool that is assigned to this group and ensure that the devices assigned to this pool are all enabled and working. Also ensure that the storage node defined for this client is working as expected.

I dont believe that this has to do anything with wrong credentials.

    Happy new year.

    Hi George,

Error " no matching devices for save of client `DataMover'; check storage nodes, devices or pools " is a configuration issue.

    1. Make sure that the SN is properly set on the client Properties.

    2. Makesure the group is selected on media pools

    3. Verify that the same SN devices are selected on the Media Pool selection criteria

    4. Did you select any NDMP devices on the media pool or normal devices?

    5. If you are backing up to remote SN's make sure that the client instance & the SN instance are created identically (Make sure that the both are created in FQDN or short name , If client is created with short name make sure that the SN instance is also created with the Short name or Vice-Versa )
