3024 Multi WAN/Uplink w/ VLAN

I have 2 wan/uplink lines I'd like to incorporate into my Powerconnect 3024 switch. My original plan was to separate the two by VLANs, having WAN0 on a VLAN with a few servers, and WAN1 on a second VLAN with a few other servers.

However, when I connect the other WAN into the system, the one that was previously connected goes into blocking mode. Is there a way to achieve multiple wans/uplinks in the same switch that don't interfere with each other?

The wan/uplink lines (Currently 10mb Half Duplex) I'm getting are coming from the same cisco switch above me on the network. I assume if I could get full duplex I could use port trunking, but I'm looking for a solution to implement with what I have right now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Brian

I haven't found anything that says a Powerconnect 3024 has PVST support (per vlan spanning tree) which is what I think would solve my problem.

I did read about enabling Fastlink which disables spanning tree on a port by port basis, what would happen if I disabled STP by enabling Fastlink on 2 ports, put them in Vlan together, and putting my other wan/uplink cable in there so it would go directly to the server? I assume that without spanning tree that port would no it into blocking mode but I really don't know for sure.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

The WAN connections need to be coming from different devices.  PVST is a Cisco protocol so you will not see it on the Dell switch.  If you turn off STP globally you will have to worry about someone creating a loop on your network and slowing it down.  Your solution is to get the WAN connections from separate devices or replace the Dell switch with a Cisco to use PVST.
