I have a rather strange issue.  We have a Powerconnect 3348 and it appears to just go offline for no apparent reason.  It usually starts with a switch port going down, which gives us a heads up and allows us to reboot the switch.  However, I would really like to work out why.

 

I suspect something is flooding it, but the ram logs and logs do not indicate any issues.

 

Regarding changes, well I did add a management IP address to it and add SNMP.  To try and get to the root cause I have switched off SNMP and I have also disabled spanning tree.  However, this appears to have only increased the time between the next failure.

 

I really do not want to switch off the management IP address as this would remove our ability to remote reboot.

 

Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can find out the issue here?
