All drivers for your system can be found at:

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_P4_4700&os=WW1&osl=EN

Make sure you install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other drivers.  This is extremely important.  Once the chipset drivrs are installed, you will need to install the audio drivers, ethernet network drivers, video drivers, and modem drivers.

you can normally download drivers off that site

The ethernet drivers are under Network drivers on the site I sent you to.  You will need to know which network card you have installed on that machine.

ok ive downloaded all the drivers and my internet will still not work.  I have netgear as my router and motorola as my modem, i split my connections and my internet is working.  What do i have to do to be able to set up an internet connection downstairs (a LAN connection).

PS: ive tried doing the New Connection Wizard, it doesn't do anyhting (it doesn't help).

Downloading drivers is not enough.  Did you install the correct drivers for your network card?  Does your network adatper now show up in Device Manager?
