Dell Control Point Connection Manager do not change LAN settings

Hi All!

I installed the Dell Control Point Connection Manager and I have created 2 profiles, 1 for work and one for my home.
The desired settings are the following:

HOME: IP 192.168.1.150, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1, DNS 192.168.1.1

WORK: IP 10.1.1.100, Subnet Mask 255.255.0.0, Gateway 10.1.1.200, DNS 10.1.1.1

I have created 2 profiles. At the ethernet settings of each profile, I have selected the static ip choise, and I have set the IP, and the dns server.

Where should I set the ip of the gateway for each profile?

One more thing. No matter which profile I activate, the LAN acquires the IP settings via DHCP (since this is the setting that I have at the LAN network connections the Vista's Network and Sharing center). I am running Vista 32bit by the way.

Could anyone suggest something?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I applied the HOME profile, I opened a shell and typed "ipconfig /all".

I noticed that the Control Point Connection Manager tries to apply the desired settings to the "Ethernet adapter Windows Mobile Ethernet Connection" interface and not the "Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection" interface that is my LAN card.

Anybody knows how I could "tell" to the Connection manager which interface is my LAN card?

When I installed the Dell Connection Manager it re-installed drivers for all my network cards (wireless, lan, 3g modem).

Could it be a driver issue?

I uninstalled the Windows Mobile Center and the OpenVPN program so that the only LAN interface present to the system was the LAN interface. Then I uninstalled and installed again the Dell Connection Manager, and the settings that I set in the Ethernet tab are applied to my LAN interface.

The only problem now is that the LAN adaper is not fully configured since, I cannot set the gateway for each profile.... Anybody knows a workaround? I am thinking about creating a batch file that executes the "route add gateway..." command, but it is not the best solution...

    Any suggestions?

I couldn't find a way to adjust either subnet mask or default gateway in the Dell Control Point Connection Manager for any of the profiles I created. What might be worth a try is to create a new profile and immediately afterwards search for modified files on the system which were modified in the last 2 or 3 minutes (depending on how quick you are). this should tell us in which file these settings are stored. if it is a simple cfg file we might try manual editing. Unfortunately the Windows search doesn't allow to search for items newer than a whole day.

Could anyone give it a try?
