I bought a brand new Studio XPS 1340 and I am experiencing slow internet speed when it comes to wireless connection. I have a "Dell Wireless 1520 Wireless N". When I try to connect wired I have no problem at all. My home network works like this:

Modem -> Router: D-Link DI-524 -> Router 3Com Office Connect Wireless 54 MBps 11g (that works as a repeater) -> my laptop

We have a 4 MB link DSL and I have 2 notebooks. One (older) runs Windows XP and I get 3.5 MBps average, while with my new notebook running Windows 7 I get around 1.2 MBps. I spent (literally) one whole day chatting online with Dell Support, they had remote access to my notebook and tried reinstalling the driver, changing channels, everything. I did test the internet speed from close and far ranges (1 ft, 7 ft and 20 ft). My normal distance from my 3Com router (repeater) is 20 feet. I always have excellent signal strenght.

Even after many tests I cannot achieve the same internet speed as my "old" notebook. This older one has a "Dell Wireless 1390" card.

Did anyone have a problem like this? How can I solve it? The guy from Dell told me it is PROBABLY compatibility with those 2 routers.

Is there a recommended router OR a router you guys are 100% that works? Dell recommends "Netgear WDNR 3700"...

What should I do??
