Need help on which computer to buy
All,
I am planning to buy a desktop computer for my son. Since I have purchased a laptop from Dell and very happy with it, I am coming back to Dell for this new purchase. But I want to make sure I am buying the **right** computer and I need some helps.
First of all, I have broadband internet access at home, but there is no ethernet cables set up for my son's room. Therfore, I plan to set up a wireless router. Yes, I undestand that I have to buy a wireless card to put in the computer for it to work, and I don't have problem on that. But I have a question on the operating system. I know XP Pro has network capability and XP Home does not, therefore, in order to set up the way I want it, does it mean that I have to upgrade the OS to XP Pro on my purchase? FYI, I have never used XP Home before. Every computer I have, at home and at work, is running XP Pro.
My second question is that, my son (and I, ha) likes to play PC games. But I don't want to spend too much money for a 3rd grader. The two models that I am considering are Dimension 3000 with Celeron D Processor 320 and Dimension 3000 with Celeron D Processor 330. Will these two models be able to handle graphic intensive games like Halo and Warcraft III?
Any help will be very much appreciated.
