Network keeps dropping out
I bought a Dell 560 desktop a few weeks ago. I am very pleased with the machine (replaced a Dell Optiplex), but I have an issue with the network card and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Multiple times each day I lose my Internet connection because of a "failed gateway". I usually click on the "exclamation point" icon in the "network and sharing center" and it repairs itself. But this happens between 5-20 times each day and it is frustrating to say the least. I'm using a Belkin "N" wireless router that is connected to my Comcast cable modem and the computer is connected to the router via CAT6 cabling.
When the desktop loses its Internet connection, my laptop, iPod, and Wii game console (all are wireless) seem to work just fine, its only the "hard-wired" desktop that drops the connection. Is there some way I can reset the network card so it will quit dropping the network? The computer is straight from the box with no modifications to it all.
Thank you
