WiDi not working after updating Dell drivers

I have a Latitude E6430 running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.  I recently acquired a TV with wireless display functionality, and attempted to try this out with the laptop.  (The laptop shipped with WiDi functionality.)  I made a few attempts to connect to the TV, and there was some promising handshaking, but it ultimately failed.  I checked the Dell support site and downloaded drivers for display (Intel 4000), WiFi (Intel 6205) and the WiDi utility and installed them, in case any were updated since I acquired the laptop.  All installed OK, but now when I fire up the WiDi utility, I'm told the laptop doesn't support it.  Why should applying drivers from Dell specifically for the Dell laptop I have disable functionality that came with the system?  How might I correct this?

Thanks,

Mike
