Wireless Trouble

I own a XPS M170 Laptop and recently had to install a new hard drive as the prior hard drive was infected by a virus (last time I lend my electronics to any of my friends =P) For awhile I had trouble first with the video card then I ran a dxdiag and realized I needed to update my video card drivers. Would the installing of a new hard drive mean I also have to update my wireless card too? And if so how would one do that? I know my laptop has wireless internet capabilities, but its not picking up my router or anyone elses for that matter, and it seems to only recognize any type of connection through a LAN only in Network Connections. I'm puzzled.

Happy New Year,
Nikki

    NeoKitti,

Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.

Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
    Chipset or SMBus driver
    Processor Driver (if applicable)
    Video
    Audio (sound)
    Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
    Modem
    Network Card
