I tested today dual rank ram and single rank ram together. They will work but you have to have dual rank in slot 2 and single rank in slot 4. They cannot be next to each other.

Futher more single rank ram will say on the ram sticker 1Rx8 or dual rank 2Rx8.

What happened when they were not in the proper slots? Any errors at POST, or boot?
