I cannot update BIOS not on what firmware above A10 A19 A21 A22
the message constantly appears: BIOS update failed! Could not find the firmware image in memory.
Model OPTIPLEX 755 MT, BIOS A09, motherboard 0GM819
tried everything possible
install new BIOS file from Windows, install from DOS with USB Flash installation from Windows 7 and Windows XP installing from a new, different hard drive with less space Reset BIOS, reset CMOS, reset the NVRAM does not help Changing the battery, changing the RAM to a smaller amount does not help
Instead of using Windows to update, try the "Drivers &.Downloads" link below this post.
My 755 used to have A10 BIOS. I had no trouble updating to A19, then A22 as recommended by the Dell site. I did have to download Dell Support Assist first.
Tried several times through Dell Support Assist, is also useless, the download stood for several hours to no avail. Today, even tried changed the CPU, is constantly one and the same inscription BIOS update failed!. Tried all Dell programs, reread all support forums and all their options.
EBay is a good place to get refurbished motherboards. I usually recommend refurb as compared to dusty used. Make sure it has a return policy - 30 days is pretty good for its age.
