Hi guys,

Once again I need to resort to the actual users of a product to answer questions that the vendor is incapable of answering. I have a Dell PowerEdge 2900 server, series 1. I would like to upgrade the CPUs within this machine, as I currently have dual X5060 Intel Xeons and they are being pushed a little too hard, and would like to know which Intel CPUs are supported. I phoned Dell numerous times and spoke with technical sales and technical support, and no one is able to properly answer my questions. Dell has no idea which CPUs their own motherboard supports; this is laughable.

I researched Dell's website, which allows me to enter my server service tag and it indicates that I have a Dell PowerEdge 3, which is incorrect. At this point, I have no idea which CPUs will work in my motherboard and I need to resort to the users to assist me.
