I updated my system from NT4 to 2k3 unfortunately without using the Open manage. The system is running but the OpenmanageAdmin requests newer RAID drivers. But this also requires newer firmware.

The RAID controller is on 2.1.3 the newest (required) Rev 2.8.0.

Is it really  nessecary to  upgrade 2.1.5 before installing a patch prior to install Rev  2.5 and then upgrading to FRMW Rev 2.8 or is it possible to update the FRMW directly to 2.8 before updateing the newest driver.

 

is there danger to loose data?
