660F direct connection question
I currently have a Dell 660F and Dell 1750 Win2k3 server both connected to a Dell 51F. I'm adding another 660F to the switch and controlling it with another Dell 1750.
When I install AM 3.6 and StorC 5 and reboot Windows hangs because it is seeing the old partitions that must already be on the 660F. I have to go into safe mode and kill them to get it to come back up.
I wasn't sure if I was getting conflictions with the current 660F so I tried direct connecting the array to the server and in AM it doesn't even give me the option of direct connect. Do I need a different HSSDC cable for direct connect?
When I did have both 660Fs on the SAN the servers could only see the original one, not the new one.
Is there a way I can terminal in and kill whatever is on the partition of the new 660F?
Ultimately what I want to do is direct connect 2 servers to each array and break each array up into 2 RAID5 partitions, each controlled by a different RAID card in the 660F. I'm trying to maximize throughput as much as possible. Is that configuration possible?
