Dell Precision 5820 GPU capacity
Hi there,
I have a Dell Precision 5820 and I want to upgrade the GPU of it. Currently, it has 8GB Nvidia GPU. I was wondering can I install a 32 GB GPU in it. Or what is the maximum GPU capability I can install in it?

There are a lot of newer cards that simply work @redxps630 , the list you posted ( taken from the product page data ) is crystallized to the year the workstation was put on the market, more or less.
Probably he's thinking about a RTX 5000 Ada generation ( has 32gb of ram )

Dell has offered dual RTX 8000 48GB as graphics cards configuration (see below). That said, this system was validated with up to 96GB of virtual link graphics. Feel free to install a 32GB GPU or larger as you wish.

I do not even see GV100 in the 5820 part list. OP should let community know personal budget for new gpu. If this is paid by a company with carte blanche, different story.

Hey I have two quadro p1000s in my 5820T running Xeon w2255 and I'm looking at the Nvidia Tesla v100 - I had bought a grid k1 cheap and haven't been able to get it to work I got to work once for a while and it was good but then I was trying to upgrade the software and I just messed it all up and now I can't get it to rework so I've been looking up and with no success on what PCI lanes I can use the grid k1 with two quadro p1000s so if anybody has any suggestion that would help though I am looking at documentation trying to figure it out thanks

@redxps630 I appreciate your due diligence in finding this and sharing it - I do, very much. The GV100 is a 32GB Quadro - and though it's not explicitly mentioned here in this list, because it's a Quadro, and absolutely akin to a few other cards on this list, and would slot in between the Quadro P6000 and the WX9100 - it's not listed here most likely because it's so high spec but because it's a Quadro - definitely appropriate for many Dell workstations and servers, will in all likelihood work perfectly fine in the 5820T, with a Tesla V100 32GB, as long as I'm running the V100 of the secondary CPU/redundant power supply output, and the GV100 off the main system supply - I could be wrong, I very well could be, but I've known Dell, and other manufacturers to generally not be as exhaustively in-depth like a technophile like me is... ..but I could be wrong. I'm going to take a chance and see what happens, because, why not? Swing for the fence and all that.
