The scanner had completed feeding and scanning (to my desktop) two pages of a several page document when it halted and squaked about not having any paper.  Although this was not a print job, there was ample paper in the bin.  I punched all the buttons and cycled the power.  I even downloaded and installed the latest (2006) driver.  There has been very little use of this MFP 1600n.  In fact, a month ago I changed the cartridge for the first time.  While attemting to get any response from the panel buttons, at one point it barked and told me "scanning option not available".  I haven't been able to get it to repeat that since.  Is there some kind of reset or other trick anybody knows that might help get it fired up again?  BTW, everything else seems to work fine.  It will feed. It will feed & copy.  It will copy by scanning the flatbed.  It will print across the network.  It's the dang'dest thing.
