I upgraded my parents PC today from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium, and everything other than the Dell Dock seems to be working perfectly. My mom can't get into her email because whenever she tries via the Dell Dock it gives an error stating "The Parameter is Incorrect". I have tried reinstalling the Dell Dock already, and it hasn't fixed the issue.
I would suggest you to please delete the email shortcut from the Dell Dock and if you are using a webmail service, then please create a new shortcut of your email and drag it on the Dell Dock.
As you mentioned that the system has been upgraded to windows 7, then you would need to install Windows Live Mail. You may access the link mentioned below:
That doesn't work, the folders that were in the program she was using (she insists it was outlook express), aren't there and they have important emails in them.
This is the parent whose email will not open. You mean to tell me that because this Dell Dock has an error I can never again access all of the files that I had saved in outlook express? No one can come up with an answer at Dell? I have had a Dell computer for many years now and this one issue makes me think this will be my last one. Those files are important and accessing my email is important!

If you are using a different email client, then send me a private message mentioning your email address and the email client that you are using.
Thanks & Regards
