Error code C00D11AB

I recently purchased my new dell laptop a couple weeks ago.  I have ripped music to my computer succcessfully.  However, when I try to burn a CD out of the ripped files, I get the error code C00D11AB.  I have tried a couple brands of cds (which have been fine on other computers in the past.)  I have slowed the burning speed down.  I have made sure that no other programs are running during the burning process.  None of these options have done anything, unfortunately.   I do not know much about computers or how to go about fixing them, so some somewhat simple advice would be great.  I am very frustrated, and any advice would be VERY appreciated. Thanks for your time.

first thing you should do is to check for firmware updates on your computer, find that here.

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

if a new firmware don't help, try run diagnostic on the cd rom. Dell drivers and utilities, drivers and diagnostic (blue) cd, F12 when u see the dell logo when computer starts and choose ide cdrom device (or something called cdrom/dvd, usually option 4 or 5) Choose dell 32 dig 2 times and custom test. Run test on dvd burner/cd-player. If u get a error code, note down and call dell tech.

Ok--so when I went to the website listed up there for the firmware updates, i found three.  They are:

However, since my lack of computer knowledge is so great, i had no idea of which one to download.  SO.

My next course of action was to chat with a dell representative online.  The representative had me do three steps.  They were as follows:

    1.  11:14:40 PMRashmi_0176347Step 1
11:15:02 PMRashmi_0176347Right click on My Computer icon, then Left click on Properties. Click on the third tab Hardware, under hardware click on Device Manager. This gives Device Manager window.
Once you are in that screen, please look for CD/DVD drives main heading - then click on the Plus sign - then look for the CD/DVD drive model that has the issue - right click on the CD/DVD drive model and left click on Uninstall/Remove - and once it is removed - go for the next heading.
Look for IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers heading - then look for Secondary IDE channel under that - right click on that and Uninstall/Remove that - once that is done.
Then please look for the main heading – the top most icon that looks like a computer icon in the same window. Right click on that and left click on Scan For Hardware Changes.
Then both the drivers will be back. (it would reload the default drivers files automatically from the windows operating system).

    Did that.  No luck.

    2.  Clear filters   (upper and lower).

    Still no luck.

    3.  Run the dell diagnostic test (as was suggested in the previous post up there^^)

The computer magically passed the tests.

So I am to a whole new level of frustration and would love for someone out there to read this and maybe help me out before i waste 10 more blank CDs.

Thanks for reading this (if anyone has)
