LUN Mirror Question
Hi Guys,
I had a question about the LUN Mirrors within the VNX. I currently have 2 VNX 5300 in my production and dr using 10 Gig iSCSI. We currently have it configured for File and Block. Now I had setup the LUN Mirror at one point, but I needed to break mirror. I then set it up again, but I had noticed that the available storage isn't adding up. So my question(s) are:
When setting up the LUN Mirror from production to dr, I am assuming it uses disk space. When you remove the LUN Mirror does it automatically remove the space it uses?
Does the LUN Mirror use the disks located in the Private LUN's?
Thanks for the input.....

You have probably configure MirrorView between the two VNX storage arrays. If you are configuring MirrorView Sync then RLP (Reserve LUN Pool) LUNs are not necessary. If you are configuring MirrorView Async then you need RLP LUNs.
If you fracture a mirror or delete the mirrorview relationship it will not delete the LUN on the target array. You would have to manually delete it within Unisphere.
