Hi,

I am looking for best practice when it comes to the following configuration in a VMware environment. Exchange and SQL logs will be placed on a RAID Groups.

VNX 5300 with 5 EFDs, SAS and NL-SAS disks.

The FAST VP Pool will be laid out as

FAST Cache: 2+2 and HS

Tier 1: SAS drives in RAID 1/0 (quantity divisible by 8)

Tier 2: NL-SAS in RAID 6 (14+2)

I have been advised by EMC that it is a best practice to use RAID 1+0 for Tier 1 in this scenario. Is that correct?
