Vostro 5391

I received this laptop yesterday and I'm noticing the fans are constantly loud and spinning heavily and the heat generated is little concerning. When I place my hands under the fans I can feel the heat.

I'm not doing anything demanding on the machines other than a few applications open (Chrome, Outlook etc).

I'm using the OS installed by Dell from factory. I've updated all drivers + BIOS to the latest versions.

I've used the Dell Power Manager application to change the thermal settings but I don't think changing thermal settings should be the solution? Right now it's on ""optimized" but it doesn't make any huge difference if I change it to any other. Obviously I don't want to put it on "quiet" as that would cause the fans to go even slower therefore increasing heat.

Suggestions????

Hi @viral2020, Welcome to the community.

Please run the diagnostics from and check the temperature captured. You can check https://dell.to/39zyQcf for the steps on initiating the test.

Please private message us the service tag of the system along with the results from the diagnostics.

I followed the "Diagnostics "from here https://www.dell.com/support/home/ and it has reported issues with the machine.

    See attached

No where can I find anything about fans/temperatures though?? This is a brand new machine I only received yesterday and it's extremely disappointing I'm having these issues right now.

Dell support now refusing to get back to me regarding this machine and its ongoing problems.

Im at the point where I rather a refund because after several tech visits, I see no solution to my problem.
