Hi, I upgraded to Vostro 7510 and I am facing multiple problems with WD19TB dock. My setup - Vostro 7510 with 11gen i7, WD19TB, 2x P2720D 1440p displays connected via DisplayPort, USB keyboard and mouse.
Issues: - Sudden blackout (reconnect) of the dock after few minutes of using it. Then it's fine for the rest of the day. - When I leave the laptop connected over night and I come to it, wake it up and try to login, all keypresses on my keyboard are repeated like 50 times. I just cannot login at all. Reconnect the dock and all is good. - Sometimes the login screen is displayed on the closed laptop's screen instead of my displays.
Everything worked absolutely flawlessly with previous Vostro 7590. Is somebody experiencing simmilar issues with the latest gen of Dell laptops?
We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.
Hi, I am having simmilar issues after upgrading from 9gen TB3 to 11gen TB4.
- Sudden blackout, disconnect and reconnect, after few minutes of usage. - Laptop wakes up and does not output video to external screens, until manual dock reconnect. - If left connected overnight, something is messed up and I cannot login due to repeating keys on keyboard, until manual dock reconnect.
UPDATE: - Update to Windows 11 - no change - Update BIOS to latest version released few days ago, update all drivers - no change - Disable kernel DMA protection before login - no change
Still, no display output when connecting the dock. Login, reconnect needed.
Same issue here. I find that if I p[lug the dock in at the login screen it works fine, or if I unplug and replug the dock after hearing the windows 11 login screen sound it works fine. It would be nice to have this work as normal. This is also confirmed on 4 new 7510's and a combo of wd19tb and wd19tbs docks. All docks and laptops are on latest bios/firmware.
We can private message if you feel there is a solution. I can confirm this issue on 4 Vostro 15 7510 series laptops, and 4 different WD19TB/TBS docking stations. All laptops are windows 11, and updated to current BIOS/drivers using support assist. The Docks are all updated using the WD19 series dock firmware updater.
Hello @emago02, finally someone! I debugged more and it's happening only in hibernation mode.
If you put the Vostro to sleep, after some hours and some battery eaten, it automatically puts itself to hibernation. Then the dock does not work.
You can easily reproduce it by enabling manual hibernation mode in Control Panel > Power settings. Then just put it to hibernation > Wait 1 min > Connect dock and turn on the laptop > No display.
The random disconnecting issue seems to be fixed by latest BIOS/driver updates, week or two ago.

Did you check the laptop BIOS- USB configuration and enable the following =
Enable USB Boot Support
Enable External USB Port
Enable Thunderbolt Boot Support
