I recently updated from 6 to 8 with a dialup connection, and it certainly didn't take any more than 1 1/2 hours. I don't understand how the "update" could take that long if your neighbor already has the program.- Actually it took close to 12 hours to download. But it is installed now. I am thinking this must be a fluke because I support a lot of computers and this is the first time any download on a dialup has taken so long. We did uninstall the old Adobe first, but I do not see how that could have affected the download.

Wow! I'd be kicked off several times by Netscape if my download had taken that long, LOL. That definitely is curious. I'm glad you finally got it done; you must indeed be a good neighbor.
