can't log onto windows
my friend gave me a dell inspiron mini 1012 but forgot to give me the password to log on so brought a flash drive and i don't know how to copy it to the flash drive or how to reset the password for windows can someone please help

You may try the steps mentioned in this article http://dell.to/XY2NoF
Choose 'Click here to change the Operating System' if you are using a different operating system.
If the above steps do not work, you may perform PC Restore, which means taking the computer back to factory defaults. Here is the link http://dell.to/VpM12n
Note: This step leads to complete data loss including pictures, music files, videos, documents and software's.
