dell backup cd?
i recieved the dell backup cd windows xp sp2 for the e310 and want to know if it can work with my other computer which is a compaq windows xp sp1 with a product num.

Correct, the Dell CD is tied to Dell systems and won't install on another brand PC.
Also remember that it's not a 'backup' CD. It only installs XP, but none of the hardware drivers or any other software that Dell originally installed on your system.
