Editing the registry

Hello........have this little problem that I could use some help with.  I installed Kapersky and found that I didn't like it.  It seemed to slow my system down a significant amount.  I deleted it yesterday using the Unistall , the unistall also deleted NTFS files that the program had written.  This took almost 2 hours!  I ram msconfig and unchecked the foriegn language entries.  Now every time I turn on the computer there are 4 dialog boxes that appear telling me that it can't run something that it can't find and to remove them from the registry.  I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to look for within the registry.  Since I can't type the foriegn symbols I can't search for them.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me?  I really don't want to use a Restore point unless I have to since the Kapersky program did remove two threats to my system that had gone uncetected with AntiVir.  Thanking you in advance for any assistance that  may be offered.

You don't mention the OS you have so...if you are running Windows ME, might opt for a system restore -or-if W/98, restoring a copy of the registry to a point immediately prior to the aborted install may prove helpful.

Thanks for the post...I'm running WinXP Home Edition.  I ended up attempting to solve the proplem by utilizing System Restore.  It solved the problem with the system attempting to load something that it wasn't able to locate, but!!  Now enter Bigger headache...there were duplicate files all over the place!!  I undid that restore and choose one further back...same problem.  My free space diminished with each Restore.  I went from 65% to 44%.  Felt like the system was being ravaged by some hungry monster that was eating up all my disk space!  Got on Dell Chat and was directed to NoClone.  That program has been a valuable tool, and I deleted all of the Restore points.  I've recovered my space but now have the vexing situation of having duplicate shortcuts within my Control Panel menu.  Can't figure out any fix for that.  NoClone can't use Control Panel as a path to search that folder, I can't drag and drop them into the Recycle Bin.  Anyone know of a way to edit the Control Pane., short of uninstalling/reinstalling the WinXp program?  Really don't want to open that particular can of worms if I don't have to.  Thanks for any forthcoming input!!
