Error 1606

While loading Adobe Acrobat 6.0 I get the message Error 1606: Could not access network location. I upgraded to Win XP a few months ago. The path in the registry looks ok to me but I am at a loss as to what the Adobe installer is looking for.  Any suggestions?

This is probably your answer but be careful editing the registry; it can be disastrous if you're not careful.

I would first try this: uninstall Adobe/reboot/ and then reinstall. I believe thereis an upgrade to Version 6.0 at adobe.com if you're interested.

Did you uninstall any previous version (and reboot) in Programs/Adobe before the attempted install? My OEM XP copy had version 4.0 on it; don't know if that is standard.

Also, I would not let ZA (?) and anti-virus program load when you attempt to install on a freah boot. Version 5.05 is below if you can't get 6.0 to install. (Sorry you'll have to paste it in.)
