Map Create 6

I've been trying to load a Lowrance GPS map program on my XP equiped Dell desktop.

When I try to open it I get a runtime error and have to reboot to get my disc out of the CD

player. It says to disable anti-virus programs and to the best of my knowledge I'm doing

that, but it still locks up when I try to open it. Any ideas? It's getting pretty frustrating.

Have you tried the manufacturer website for an updated version of the software?

I believe I have the latest version of Map Create, they even sent me a new master disc

and it does the same thing.

It says "runtime error" and a little CD appears on my cursor arrow. I can't remove the disc, but everything else works. I usually delete the program and re-boot to remove the CD.

I'm guessing there is something I'm missing with McAfee or Earthlink that's blocking this thing.

But as you can tell, I'm not a computer person.
