Suddenly the other day, my Outlook started changing the Incoming Mail (POP3). from my server's address to a number each time I start the computer.
I haven't (knowingly) made any such changes, and although I go through the steps to change it back, the next time I start or restart the computer, the address changes back to a number.
I was just running a random search and found your question.
The answer to your plight commonly rests with your anti-virus program. Certain anti-virus applications (Mine is McAfee) will change the POP3 server to a "local" ISP #. There it will hold your email until it has searched for virus/Trojan or spam before it is passed to outlook express.
I would check with your ISP to make sure, but I would venture to guess that is what is happening.
