Pagefile ignores (minimum) setting

Hi.

My paging file is stuck on a minimum on 383mb, despite my Windows settings (and the registry key) with my minimum setting of 512mb to 1024mb.
When I change the setting to something else, the swap file size rises to the just-specified minimum (if you set it below current allocation it needs to reboot). But on reboot, it'll reset to 383mb.

Scanned with Norton Antivirus and Ad-Aware. I've checked the boot up programs but nothing there which seems to set the page file.

Just curious, does setting it to no page file and rebooting work?

No Paging File: 0mb (success, if you could call it that)

    256mb Minimum: 383mb (so it's ignored it)

Never mind. As soon as there's a lull in my Uni study I'll back up my work and just restore a Norton Ghost image I made - I suppose this is why I made it in the first place. It won't be a complete waste cos I probably am due for a format anyway.

Thanks for trying to help VCraig!

Don't understand the rationale for setting up XP with FAT32 vs more efficient NTFS that is the XP standard file allocation system. Good luck..
