A few days ago, for the first time, I used the pre-installed Roxio software's "Direct-to-Disc" feature. It required my enabling DLA, which I did by clicking on "Enable" in the Roxio software window. I copied a bunch of html, jpg, and gif files to a new DVD+R (which Roxio formatted), and then closed Roxio. The process worked fine. Later, in Windows Explorer (without opening Roxio) I drag-and-dropped a file to the same DVD. The system crashed and generated a message telling me "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down ..." (I took a photograph of the screen, and have posted it at  http://www.eastbrookmaine.org/roxiocrash.jpg). I shut down, and the laptop is working fine now (but I have not gone anywhere near Roxio or the DVD since). Then, I went to Dell's upgrade page to see if there was anything on that page about Roxio or DLA, and noticed that there was a download for a new BIOS marked "urgent" (version A08 to replace A07). I ran that successfully. There is also a driver download for TSSTcorp DVD+-RW but it is for TS-L632H marked urgent, but my DVD+-RW is TS-L632D, so I did not download it. My question: Does this sound familiar to anyone here? I would appreciate any ideas. In the meantime, I am back to Windows own "Copy to CD" feature.Thank you.
