Vista upgrade

Hi. Just finshed the upgrade to vista. all seems to have gone well. Took the whole two hours. Now to figure out how to use it.

    Wish I could say the same. Spent about 5 hours and lots of things not working. Antivirus software (AVG Grisoft) no longer working even with most recent version, Roxio no longer works even with the the updates, ITunes does not work correctly.

    I would suggest completely uninstalling AVG and then installing the latest version from http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5 as this version is known to work with Vista (I have been running various versions of it starting on Vista beta 2 and have never had any problems).
     
    Not sure about Roxio, which particular piece of Roxio software are you trying to use? Would be worth a visit to their website as the information on there is likely to be more up to date than anything on the dell website.
     
    As for iTunes, it is known to not be working correctly at the moment and even Apple are recommending that you don't use it until they release an updated version that fixes all the issues.
     
    Hope you can get the problems sorted out because Vista is an awesome system and I'm sure you'll grow to love it!

    Thanks Uninstalling AVG and reinstalling did not work, still a problem Roxio is the "easy media creator de version 9.0.115 that was preinstalled on the laptop when I got it 2 months ago. I've checked with the Roxio web site and they have no information. It might need to be uninstalled and reinstalled, but without a source disk, not sure if I can get that from Dell. Not real impressed with any of VISTA's features, it looks nice, but will see. right now looks like I will do a restore back to XP and maybe try it once more of the apps are updated better to work with VISTA.

    Reinstall them as Administrator (with a right click on the install file). I have AVG and Roxio 9 running without any problems at all. The only program I have that will not work under Vista is Winfax Pro which Symantec no longer supports but I found a much better program to do my faxing, Snappy Fax, so I consider it a favor.
