Dell vs Nvidia drivers
Does Dell actually modify Nvidia drivers? Dell is really slow in updating their graphics drivers and my Adobe applications are complaining about my drivers being out of date even though I have the latest Dell graphics drivers.
I remember a while ago I tried the official Nvidia drivers and it seemed like the fans were behaving differently but maybe it was just a coincidence.

Dell provides customized drivers for many laptop components. However, Dell generally stops updating drivers after only a few years.
At that point, you can keep the customized but older Dell drivers, or obtain newer drivers from component manufacturers. If they don’t work well, you can always return to using Dell drivers, no harm done.
On my XPS and Inspiron laptops, I use newer drivers from Nvidia, Realtek, JMicron, etc., and they work better than the older Dell drivers.
