Hi everybody! I need a little help before deciding a purchase. In one of the new Area 51 equipped with, for example, a 7980xe and two 1080ti, is it possible to disable the SLI mode? Is there an NVIDIA control panel or it must be disable from bios? Should the bridge be disconnected? When will the AW3418DW and U.2 units be available? Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions!
I'm sorry to bother you again. I decided to take a less powerful model. With the 850w power supply. What UPS should I take for Area 51 with the 850w PSU? Thanks so much!
I've been buying these for high-performance computer work-stations and Home Theater entertainment setups.

If the power supply of the Area 51 has the Active PFC, it needs a UPS sinewave right? Thanks again!
Personally, I've never seen a Dell machine that REQUIRES a pure Sinewave output.
However, they have been selling higher-end UPS with that technology for many years and it's getting more affordable now. Those have historically been reserved for Servers and other Mission-critical systems. Either will work for Area-51.
The LCD readout and "Automatic Voltage Regulation" are the killer-features on the model I linked you to.

3. You can if you want to disable SLI functionality permanently, but you don't have to.

For a Single Card they Recommend 600W minumum power supply so for 2 of them it would be 1200W minimum.
Right. For this config, he should go with optional 1500watt Power-Supply.
I think this Area51-R5 or R6 config is gonna be nice (but very pricey). Hopefully, he will have someone look at final config before he pulls the trigger.

What does the PSU have to do with the questions I've asked? I am Italian and, on the Italian Dell website, the configurations with dual 1080 or two 1080ti are all equipped with the 1500watt power supply (standard they have only the 1500 watt power supply). Then if there are other problems I don't know.
