Alienware History

I owned both models. The Predator 1 was the famous chieftec CS601 with "premium-plastic" on top. Design was epic though. Dell should remember this history, its the main reason for Alienwares success. In those times Alienware did use standard PC-parts like Asus motherboards and chieftec cases too and no proprietary parts. The R16 is a step in the wrong design-direction, it looks like a normal pc-case with an alienhead. Its simply way cheaper for Dell than the R15 which has an individual (Alienware-) design that makes it stand apart from other "normal" PCs.

The first one is the chieftec CS601 with Alienware-Branding. Next step was the Predator 1 case, Alienwares first unique case based on the CS601.

That is a nice collection. Even today those cases look nice and premium.
