CT-SC040 Factory Reset and issue with StorCenUpdate

Hello Guys ,

I got a used CT-SC040 to build a Lab in our Dell-EMC Cork center but previous admin is gone and current did not remember the password.

I run below steps to reset it to factory settings:

shellaccess developer
platform init hsn set 0
platform init ssn set 0
cs purge all
disk global clobberall
-reset

I did configure it after with the steps provided in deployment manual but after running it I got an error during boot:

Subsystem[StorCenUpdate] FAILED Initialization Pass[Recovery] - Aborting initialization and waiting to be reset
Warning: some subsystems did not initialize.

Logs are showing:

2419389564 07/12/2018-09:19:18 WARNING DM RunStateMachine dmDiskClass.cpp 2025
0 Unable to parse disk info file DiskInfo_126.txt, returned [1]

Any chance you can help solve me this problem, please ?

Marek

    Hello majek-dell,

What you want to do is to run the disk global clobberall first and see if that makes it so the disk are available.  If that doesn’t work, and you still have the ISO for your SC 40 then you can burn the ISO to a DVD then you can reinstall that way as well.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I also just notice that file FMCMLMAPPINGOSDEF05421 is not in /mnt/root folder .

    I can only find FMCMLMAPPINGOSDEF06411.

Could that be an issue ? Is there a command or config file where this is specify ? :)

Unfortunately I do not have iso as this was kept in UK DC and was sent to us as bear minimum ... I will ask the guys ... they might have it. Unless you have it on some FTP server ?

    Best Regards,
    Marek.

    Rafa_Wolf,

As seen here, with the SC4020 it is suggested that you call in to support for assistance in resetting the device.

Let me know if this helps.

One thing i can attest to is that this is not a factory reset. I understand that was not the intent for this thread but the the term "Factory Reset" can be misleading in this instance. This does not reset the BMC settings.  On that notes does anyone know what else this does not clear or reset including backup files, logs, backup logs, setting, network settings along with any other imaginable setting???? I have factory reset the BMC through BMC web interface and  will be wiping the drives with a 3rd party program but wanted to make sure everything is gone. The cli commands are not very user friendly and you can get lost trying to find more settings that were not cleared.
