Anyone using vCenter 5.1? I just downloaded the vSphere 1.5.2 plugin from the Dell/Compellent site. Installs fine but unfortunately appears to be upset with vCenter since it is looking for "Could not load file or assembly 'VMware.Vim, Version=5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=10980b081e887e9f' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
I assume the version 5.0.0.0 portion is what the killer is since I am running vCenter version 5.1. If anyone knows how to bypass this or fix it then let me know.
Sorry not sure how to address your problem. I haven't upgrade my vCenter to 5.1( I really want too) since I was down at VMworld last month and talking to the Dell Compellent guys. The new plugin currently is siting in Alpha. No beta yet and sounds like for the guys I talked too it won't be ready until the new year. :(
Totally agree. I am quite sure the problem is just version 1.5.2 not being compatible with esx 5.1. The README on version 1.5.3 claims to support it. I will just hold tight until it is released and manage the SAN via EM or HTTP.
I was having the same issue. I found a fix by uninstalling the vshere 1.5.2 plugin and the VMware Power Cli version 5.1. I then installed VMware Power Cli version 5.0 then reinstalling the vShere 1.5.2 plugin.
