I wanted to ask if anyone can help me with this issue; I bought a desktop in January of this year, but because of the part shortages and many other delays Dell shipped in late March. I had the desktop for few weeks, but it was getting too hot (seems to have poor airflow) and fan became way too noisy (it seats right next to me, not on the floor) so I decided to ask for return as it was expensive purchase.
However, Dell said that their return policy does not start with delivery date (as most if not all other manufacturers) but from the invoice day; those days were 4 days apart. I tried to plead with customer service agent to help me with this issue, but they all keep pushing me to get tech support involved and not ask for a return under 30 day policy.
Now, I understand that dell has their policy but I waited for this PC for almost 4 months and they will not consider my request for a return. I just find that very strange and poor business practices.
So if someone knows how I can ask for a return of this pc please help out.
Late March would put the delivery either in late March or very early April if the delivery took four days. Since it's now May 23, that would have ended your return period during the first week of April, one way or another -- that would mean your return period ended by the end of the first week in May -- or about two weeks ago.
Unfortunately, buyer's remorse is not grounds for a return exception.
I am not sure how your comment suppose to help my issue. I perhaps did not make this clear in my initial post: I contacted them to request a return on April 20th (a month and two days after invoice date) for which they told me that it is outside the return window, even though it was delivered on march 22/23rd (but it was delayed 3 months). I understand it is May now, and I have been in constant communication with dell over this issue.
Also, it is not remorse request; as I explained the computer/gpu fans are very loud as it seems to strain due to poor airflow.
My question to the community was to help navigate Dell's customer service in order submit a successful return request; but I am being directed to tech support. So please help me with that, and not falsely telling me I have buyer's remorse.
Are you sure it starts on invoice date? My laptop was shipped April 12 (invoiced) and delivered on May 21 and I was able to start a return process. Though I literally picked it up at the delivery service warehouse and immediately returned it within a few seconds lol. Didn't even open the package.
Your option at this point is to have the system repaired, not replaced.
After 30 days (and yes it's from the invoice date, but that does not apply here anyway since it's been more like two months now), that's the course you must follow. And realize that 30 days is generous for returns in the industry -- most other manufacturers allow only 7 or 14 days.
