"Update Catalog"?

Greetings. We are looking at moving from OpenManage Essentials to OpenManage Enterprise.

In Essentials, once a month, I go to the "Manage" tab, select "System Update", and there is a "Get the Latest" button to download a new catalog from http://downloads.dell.com/catalog/catalog.cab

I cannot find that option in Enterprise. Can somebody please point me to it? Thanks.

    Hi and thanks for the post.

    It's not obvious...we are working on that.

    I think you have to go and "Edit" your catalog in the OMEnt tool, then when you finish, it should download the latest.  Or you can use the create new catalog workflow.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi @DELL-Rob C

    Did this get resolved?

    We just got burnt laboring under then false impression that while using the "Dell Online" catalog we were installing the latest firmware...

    Ta, Liam.

    Version 3.3.1 does.

    In Catalog Management, there is a big blatant 'Check for Update' button fort the catalog.

    There is also now the option when you Edit the catalog to schedule Automatic Daily or Weekly update checks.

    You can definitely schedule it to regularly update.  We create the Catalog via the API and use this as our payload via requests in Python3 (you have the option in the GUI as well):

    catalog_payload = {
    "Filename": "",
    "SourcePath": "",
    "Schedule": {
    "StartTime": "",
    "EndTime": "",
    "Cron": "0 0 10 * * ? *"
    },
    "Repository": {
    "Name": 'Dell Catalog' + time.strftime("-%Y%m%d-%H:%M:%S"),
    "Description": "",
    "RepositoryType": "DELL_ONLINE",
    "Source": "downloads.dell.com",
    "DomainName": "",
    "Username": "",
    "Password": "",
    "CheckCertificate": False
    }
    }
