hi guys i have a problem with my Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559. I need to update my bios , i have: dell bios 1.2.0 version,but when i downloaded the last version exe file and i start it , show me error: unable to start secure flash session. the same happen when i try to update bios from a flash usb key.
Ok, I finally found the hint over at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkCentre-A-E-M-S-Series/BIOS-update-gives-me-18-Error-Unable-to-start-a-Secure-Flash/td-p/4183038 which is to update to an older version first, and then continue to update to newer versions. In my case, I started on A02, and I could jump up to A13, but not directly to A15.
I think you've located the wrong BIOS, thanks to Dell's confusing naming for these systems (and the support page).
If this is an Gaming Edition Inspiron 15, it's PROBABLY (verify the model number on the setup page - F2 at powerup) the 7577 model, for which the BIOS is here:

Make sure you VERIFY the model number and NEVER try to flash a BIOS that produces an error like you've seen (the error arises when the BIOS version is not correct for your model).
If you find it's a different model than the 7577, post back with the information and someone can help you find the correct BIOS.
See if 1.2.1 will flash.

Solved my issue with the "secure flash check failure" error message. Went into the Bios, then to Advanced, and turned off the Virtualization option (it was the second option on my machine). Restarted and the BIOS updated happened no problem. Got some clues from some of these posts and others and also remembered that sometimes, after updated the BIOS, I would have to go in and turn on Virtualization before I could use VirtualBox to run VM's. Hope this helps.
