How to interpret a DELL battery PPID

Dear all,

I just replaced my old battery with a new one in a computer store. The tech guy in the store did the replacement as I had no skill to do the job.

But, I am wondering whether my new battery is brand new or refurbished.

Is there any way to make sure whether a battery is new and original, not old nor refurbished?

And how to interpret a DELL battery PPID?

My old battery PPID is KR 0C4HCW 71275 688 0000 X00. I found it on Power Manager Lite and Dell Command Power Manager.

And after the new battery was installed, the PPID shown in Power Manager Lite and Dell Command Power Manager is exactly the same as the old one as above. No change in PPID, which is weird. My understanding is that PPID should change as the new battery has different PPID. CMIIW.

Please help me on this issue. Thank you so much!
