Why Dell Support

I have always preferred Dell Computers.  I have an G3 laptop that is really great - BUT  There's a silly design flaw where the little trap door that's supposed to hold in the ethernet cable isn't staying closed.  Replacing a spring, right?  NO, it needs a whole new motherboard.  Brilliant design there team.  It's covered by warranty, so I set up for an at site repair today.  I have an email showing that I was supposed to see someone between 8am and 6pm today, I'd get a call make the exact time more clear that that 10 hour window.  But -- guess what?  No one came.  No one called.  No one emailed.  No information at all.  Evidently my time is valued so little by Dell that my being on hold for 10 hours didn't matter.  SO ... at 8:30pm my time I called to see what was up.  I was on hold waiting for someone to come on the line for -- by the phone's call timer -- :48 minutes.  Again, Dell's busy so their customers can just wait, right?  The guy who came on the line "Corrected me" and let me know that the techs have up to 3 business days to call me.  I have an email showing the specific appointment?  Sorry, you were given wrong information.  The email was directly from Dell Support!  Oh well, they'll be calling you when they're ready.  For the 10 hours waiting and the 48 minutes on hold all he could do is say sorry.  Oh yah, he escalated the case too.  Well guess what Dell.  I can use a piece of scotch tape to hold the door closed, so I can simply blow off spending another day waiting for you to come fix this.  And, buy the way, I am not intending to purchase another Dell product for my personal or business again.  Since you don't know how many computers a year I'm responsible for the purchase of, we'll leave it up to your imagination how much of a sales loss this will be.
