Touchpad right click button not working with Ubuntu 20.04 on Precision 7750
Touchpad right click button is not working. I can open right click menu with two finger tap, but I'd prefer that the physical button worked as well. I've live booted 18.04 from USB and touchpad middle click button wasn't working along with the right click. This tells me that it's most likely a faulty driver rather than a hardware issue. For a while even the left button wasn't working, but then it just came back, I'm not sure if that was something that I did since at the time I was installing, tweaking things and constantly rebooting. I've tried the stock and latest kernel versions. Any ideas?
I am experiencing a similar/same problem on my Precision 7550 with Ubuntu 20.04. I have already updated the BIOS to 1.4.0.
When I run [xinput test 13 | grep "button press"] (ID 13 is the touchpad physical buttons) I only get the middle button as showing a 2 when pressed. The left and right touch pad buttons do not give any feedback during this test.
When I'm using the touchpad left button, I can click and hold it down and it allows me to highlight text. On the right button, when I click it after the keyboard backlighting is off, the keyboard backlighting comes back on. So I know that these buttons are at least partially active and there is no hardware problem.
Hi, I am also facing the same problem. I am using Ubuntu 18.04 on Alienware laptop. I am right now using a mouse to get the right click option. The right click option on touchpad works fine on Windows OS, but somehow while on linux there is always a problem.
This works now without doing anything special, I guess some firmware or kernel-update did it. I'm using Kubuntu-20.10 with all updates, nothing special

So I booted up Windows 10 and the right button is working just fine, I guess this just confirms the issue is linux driver related.
