Dell DOES NOT support Vista or Win 7 on this model, only XP and the XP drivers are not compatible.
HERE is a driver for an Optiplex 780, there is no guarantee it will work - if you try it, you are on your own.
What many have done that have upgraded a PC that is not supported for Vista or Win 7 is to buy a separate PCI sound card that is Win 7 compatible and use that.

i use this driver for my Dimension 8400 for Windows Vista\7 64 bit , after you install it check windows updates and it will install a new windows 7 64 bit updated driver !!
