I got this pc from e-Bay and loaded win 2K and it wants to crash all the time. The system was originally configured for win 98. It does'nt crash all the time, In fact it will sometimes run quite a long time before it decides to lock up or reboot.

I have tried all the obvious fixes, (viruses, bad componets, updates, bad sticks of ram. proccessor fan, power supply etc. reformatted

Finally I tried just running 1 stick of ram (64meg)  This seems to have fixed the problem. I have changed to 1 stick of 128,  this works ,but I cant help thinking thaty some applications would use the two slots to improve proformance.

Is this true that I would be better off using both slots? and why can,t I use this other one without crashing?

I have found that I can use either slot without crashing, But only one at a time. Also either stick of ram?????????????

Any advise you can give me will be appreciated,as it is driving me crazy trying to figure this out.  ............thanks
