Hi

I'm running a dual boot system (Vista Home Premium & XP sp2)  on my Dimension 5100 and have been unable to get the microphone working on either system.

The new (Logitech) headset has been checked on another system and works OK.

 

In Vista, Control Panel, Sound, Recording it shows the microphone as present and working but there is nothing indicated to show sound being detected.

 

I have downloaded the SigmaTel driver from Dell downloads, but still no luck.

 

I can hear sound OK through the speakers but not through the headphones.

 

I've tried using a microphone until now so it may be a problem that has always existed, I don't know.

 

My last question is regarding using my service Tag to find downloads. It would appear that because my system was initially an XP one I don't appear to be able find any downloads for Vista!

 

Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
